The Big Bird Swoops into Toronto

It wasn’t long ago that Emirates introduced their new Airbus A380s, complete with showers, individual suites, and a stand up bar.  If you have been hoping for a chance to test drive it, they have announced that service out of Toronto will begin June 1!  Here is the Toronto Star article with more information.

Dubai comes to the Caribbean

Here they come.  Dubai-based luxury hotel company Jumeirah Group is breaking into the Caribbean market as the management company for the Botany Bay Resort a luxury multi-use resort occupying the entire western tip of St. Thomas, dramatically  located where the Caribbean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean.

The Jumeirah Botany Bay Resort, formerly known as the Preserve at Botany Bay, is scheduled to open in 2011. The five-star boutique hotel on a 400-acre resort will include 84 hotel rooms in nine buildings, 30 timeshares, 30 privately owned villas and 20 estate homes.

Showers in the Air! Are you kidding me?

Just when we thought that airlines couldn’t cut back any more on their services, we hear that Emirates taking a step in the other direction and launching the world’s first in-flight shower! 

From Friday, passengers on board the new Superjumbo A380 will be able to indulge in ’shower spas’.   They will have a 5 minute limit to ensure that all of the 14 first class passengers can have their turn.
