Often a hotel is just a place to lay your head, more a means to an end than a destination.  That isn’t the case at these EXTREMELY unusual hotels!   Click the links and scroll through the pictures in the top right: PART ONE, and PART TWO.  Imagine what it would be like to spend the night in some of these places!  My favourite is the Poseiden Resort, although at $30K US per week I don’t know how often I will be booking it!

If you are looking for a Great spot for a short family getaway, then Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls is the perfect choice!  We visited in January and had a blast… could be a new family tradition.  I have been getting some great rates lately (half to two thirds the listed prices!), and water park passes are included.

In honor of Family Day, I thought that I would put together a list of things to bring when travelling with kids.  When planning your trip, starting a detailed list well in advance is a great idea… this is by no means an exhaustive list, but it’s a good start! 

Things to bring when travelling with kids:

• Food for the plane to save money and ensure that you have it when needed; stick with healthy snacks that are low on sugar
• Passports: kids need them too
• A change of clothes and bathing suits in the carry on - in case of the inevitable spills,  and so that you can hit the pool even if your room is not ready yet when you arrive (more…)

You don’t need to throw fitness out the plane window when you travel! Here are some ways to stay active:

• PLAN AHEAD - Book accommodation with a gym, or that is at least in an area that is safe to walk. Incorporate your favourite sport into the trip (rent bikes, go golfing, or play beach volleyball).  Maybe even bring a fitness DVD with you!
• PACKING - Remember to take along what you will need.  Bring proper shoes, workout gear, or anything else that will help you to keep fit, and travels well. (more…)

Wave season it’s here!  It’s the beginning of the cruise industry’s year, and they mark it in style by offering fantastic promotions including free upgrades, on board credits and reduced deposits.  If you have been thinking of taking a cruise, now is the time to book it!
