City break – Boston is Back

The “Big Dig” is finally done, so it’s a great time to plan your trip and experience this great city.   The massive central artery construction project has been compared to building a Panama Canal through the middle of a city, and was completed at a cost of $15 Billion after 17 years!

The city is abuzz, and getting around is a breeze!  Here are some more reasons to visit the ‘new and improved’ Boston:

  • The mile long Rose Kennedy Greenway, which replaced the now underground highway
  • A remade and extremely welcoming waterfront
  • It’s the gateway to Cape Cod via high speed ferry, bewitching Salem, and historic seaports like Rockport… and that is only the beginning
  • The 44 mile harbour walk trail
  • Tons of new hotels, restaurants, and attractions
  • All the amazing history and sites as before, such as the Sam Adams Brewery, the Bull and Finch Pub (home of Cheers, and yes that’s me in the photo circa 1995), the Public Garden, the Original House of Blues, Harvard University, and Fenway Park
  • Maybe best of all, uber discount airline Southwest is starting service to Boston this fall
