WOW! Some of those destinations are pretty exotic and perhaps out of range for many people. There are MANY “must do” travel destinations that are even closer to home and easier on the wallet. While seeing the Pyramids of Egypt is for sure on my list, seeing the Grand Canyon for the first time or hiking down inside (which I did for 5 days) the “big ditch” is pretty extraordinary too! So is seeing the Rocky Mountains near Banff or Lake Louise - a pure MUST for any true Canadian! The majesty of it all is truly breathtaking. I’m sure everyone has their own “travel to do” sights they must see - make it a reality and start your adventures now!!!! Enjoy! Have fun!!!!!

Michelle - thanks for your comment. I agree that there are many great spots to explore right in our own backyard, and that this list is only a taste. You might be surprised, however, at how cost effectively these destinations can be experienced!
Example (flights additional):
- Everest Base Camp 16 day trek for $1230usd with Kumaka
- Witness migration on the Serengeti, starting at $995cad for a 7 day tour with GAP
- An 8 day tour to the Amazon AND Machu Picchu for $1170cad with Trek Holidays
Thanks for sharing some of your experiences, and for the encouragement to all of us!
